// Holdings & Operations
Description

Enforcement, security, and operational support for Meridian extractive operations and external clients.

Operates in contested frontier systems where formal political authority does not apply.

Description

Meridian holds the strongest claim to mineral rights on this tidally locked moon.

Two rival corporations hold competing claims — one purchased from an exploration team, one resting on a tenuous 'Garch household claim to the system.

Description

Active core-sample drilling. Operated under the Meridian Mining name.

Registry note: the corporate relationship between Meridian Mining and Meridian Holdings is inferred from operating pattern, not documented.

Orbital Training Station Facility
Description

Basic training and rotation phases, conducted on a former commercial-extractive platform.

The building's origin is legible in its bones: welded patches, painted-over corporate insignia, atmospheric scrubbers of an older vintage.

Planetary Intake Facility Facility
Description

Recruitment and sorting. Candidates are assigned to the standard infantry track or the specialty assessment track.

Standard infantry: twelve weeks of fireteam-formation training, designation eligibility on a longer timeline. Specialty assessment: six weeks of close institutional observation, including rotation into seasoned fireteams. Failure recycles the recruit to standard infantry training.

// Notes
  • Parent conglomerate. MEC is an explicit wholly-owned subsidiary, not a partner or contractor.
  • Distinct from Meridian Colony Corporation. The two entities are separately canonized and no corporate link between them is established.
  • Distinct from Blackline Corporation. The two coexist in the human-space corporate landscape and operate in different sectors.
  • Mineral rights on Meridian's frontier claims are negotiated through corporate enforcement rather than civil authority.
  • Institutional posture toward the Integration: the corporation observes the system's outputs and acts on what it sees, openly admitting it does not claim knowledge of system mechanism.
  • Recruiter methodology is described internally as pattern-recognition over biography.
  • Headquarters, home system, and founding date: INSUFFICIENT DATA.

// Background

Background

Meridian Holdings is what the frontier looks like when it is profitable. The corporation extracts, refines, moves, and surveys across multiple frontier systems, and it has been doing so long enough that its institutional history is measured in decades rather than quarters. Where it operates, the question of who owns a mineral seam is not settled by a court. It is settled by whoever can hold the ground and keep the drills turning, which is why Meridian owns an army.

That army is the Meridian Enforcement Corps, and its existence is the most honest thing about the company. Meridian does not pretend that frontier extraction is a civil enterprise conducted under law. It contracts the MEC out to other clients, trains recruits on its own repurposed industrial platform, and tracks designation advancement the way other employers track certifications — because on a contested moon, what a person's overlay says they are determines what they are paid and who they can order.

The corporation's relationship to the Integration is neither reverent nor hostile. It is actuarial. Meridian's institutions observe what the system produces and assign accordingly, and they say plainly that they do not know how it works. In a galaxy full of organizations claiming special insight into the overlay, that admission is close to a corporate virtue.

Reputation by Source

As Meridian describes itself: A frontier development conglomerate providing infrastructure, employment, and security in systems where no other institution will operate.

As the Fringe describes it: The people who arrive after the survey team and before the law.

As the IAO records it: Registry Class II. Compliant filings. Enforcement subsidiary within permitted parameters for contested-claim operations.

As its own recruits describe it: A twelve-week pipeline and a pay-grade that moves when your designation does.
